Our Construction Clients Are Reporting Increases - In construction project sales including, home building, remodeling, commercial tenant improvements, landscaping and handyman work in November 2011 which is unusual for this time of year and especially given the current economic climate.
We Believe Part Of The Reason - Is because we are working closely with them and helping them to develop and maintain their Construction Business Strategy using the M.A.P business model.
If You Own A Construction Company - Like any of the ones listed above or if your current business has anything to do with building, remodeling, repairing or maintaining residential or commercial buildings please contact us for a No Charge, FREE, $0.00, No Cost, No Obligation Business Strategy Review Session.
Lots Of Construction Companies - Have failed, merged or been bought up by their competitors and in every case the root cause was the contractors bookkeeping and accounting system was not setup or maintained properly to find the right customers and predict cash flow in time to avert disaster.
Contractors Do Not Like Marketing - It is not natural for construction companies to actively pursue business because they prefer the more passive, low-key way of relying on word of mouth. This strategy works as long as you are the low-price leader in the area and are willing to work for a little less than $20 an hour.
Construction Companies - That are buying up competitors, surviving and thriving in good times and bad are the ones that embrace marketing consistently and continuously.
Right Now There Are A Lot - Of big blue tarps covering a lot of roofs, walls and outside decks which means there is a lot of construction projects looking for contractors.
Here Are Four Tips - That may help you get some new profitable construction projects right away:
-
Pay For Referrals - Figure out a way to reward those people who do send customers to you. Visa gift cards pre-loaded with a nice chunk of money is best because they can use it anywhere. We pass them out and say "Here is a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant!" Not everybody feels they should have to pay for referrals and I understand...If it doesn't work for you don't do it!
-
Lunch And Learn - Take several architects and or designers to lunch and share what you do and find out what projects they are working on and how you can both work together.
-
Public Speaking - Offer to give a talk at the local neighborhood association on how to do simple maintenance around the house or condo. Guess what? Nobody wants to do their own maintenance they just want to hear you speak, ask a few questions and if they like you they just might have you do some work
-
Six Pack Farming - Be very careful with this one...several years ago in one of our construction businesses we would send a crew to do a small two or three day project and they would wind up staying in the area for several months at a time. Here is how it works: You show up to a house to do construction project and before you get to busy go to three houses on each side (six pack) and introduce yourself to the people living there, hand them a business card and in your own words say something like "Hello, my name is ----- and we are doing a construction project for your neighbor ------ and I just wanted to let you know that if any of our trucks or vans get parked in your way or if you have any concerns about what we are doing you can contact me personally and I will handle it." - WOW! You will Amaze Them! Now do the same for the six houses across the street and when you are finished if nobody has asked for you to "stop by and see about a construction project" at their house you re-visit them and ask if they were inconvenienced in any way. This works because most people are curious about what is going on their neighborhood.
If You Would Like To Try - The six pack but need someone to do it with you contact my office and if you are within 20 minutes driving distance from my office in Lynnwood Washington and agree to buy me breakfast ahead of time I could be persuaded to do it with you at no charge, other than breakfast, I enjoy a good meal with a contractor!
With Over Thirty Years - Combined experience in the construction industry and contractors accounting and bookkeeping, and I don't mean six months experience - sixty times over LOL! I have seen and tracked what worked for our construction business and I know what is working for other contractors
These Four Easy Tips - Are only the tip of the iceberg of what my clients have access too.
Our Promise To You - We will analyze what you are doing now and bring 30+ years of construction and construction accounting experience and do our best to show you how to earn an extra $500.00 in the next 30 days without you spending any money at all!
At This First Meeting - We will not allow you to spend any money or hire any of our services! It is our way to say thank you for all you do as a member of the Construction Industry and to help you get a little something extra in your bank account.
